Taco's on Ebay!!

Ran across him on Youtube a couple years ago. Apparently he started by making videos in his basement, never realizing that they would become fantastically popular. He's noted for his rude but funny songs.

Then last year, he joined a TV comedy show called FX the League, and played Taco, the starving musician. The only reason I watched it was for his sake.

But now he's offering to write and play a song dedicated to you. I've never watched a listing that had gone beyond $2,000 before, but at one point, it did. Most of them are probably people giving their support, not really wanting to have to pay. I would have participated in the rolling snowball, but I certainly don't have the money to back it up...just in case I happen to end up the last bidder. Well, I might, but someone's going to kill me...

Then down the road, Taco would say..."this is to you, Georgie. The girl who no longer has a laptop, and has to see her boss just to watch this Youtube video on his ipad. The reason some people tag along for skydiving is to get online. The...crazy things my followers will do..."

Oh ja...his actual name is Jon Lajoie. And it's apparently a charity auction.

But...good luck to the last bidder, and I hope he/she will get something nice and be happy with it! Either way, the money would go to feeding people, which isn't bad...

My Violin

Gee...that looked better last night than it does now... :P

When it's done, it'll look sharp and brilliant...a shocking contrast, and we'll forget all about what it looked like as a baby. :)

Leda and the Swan

Been working on this for a bit. :)

Something brought to mind the story of Leda and the Swan not long ago, and I just had to make my own version. I was always kind of fascinated with the ticklish story... about the swan who crashed at her place and made himself at home there for awhile.
Seduced her,
ate pizza,
drank beer,
and watched the Olympics on TV.

But it's just a swan! Very innocuous creature...

Awesome-ness

I love them so XD ♥...

And shepherds we shall be,
for Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
En nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti

I'm a purposeful walker, which is why I don't walk that much. I can overtake most people. The secret to staying cool in the tropics is apparently to putter slowly and don't bother making it somewhere early.

So I was walking the long pavement in the heat, and for some reason was thinking about the Saints. I was trying to come up with a song about them.
"...won't you please watch....
over...me.."

There was some guy ahead of me who got my attention. As I got closer, I noticed he had some unusual tattoo on his forearm. I walked more. It was a word. Walked more.
It said AEquitas.
He was like me!!
Oh my gosh...in this small two-star town there is also another budding Saint.

I didn't say anything, but I happily overtook him and continued my long march somewhere...

Most people can't, shouldn't, and aren't meant to be full-blown Saints. The brothers however, embody so much of ourselves and what all of us have thought of at one point or another, and in a way, they are real.

But it's always comforting knowing that the Saints are watching over you...

If you're one of us, feel free to give a shout. :D

Gliese 581g

It was just announced... that in our sights is a planet just like earth.
About the same size, just the right distance from a star in another solar system, 20 light years away.
And where there is water or liquid, there seems to be a chance...

All the makings for supporting some life form of one sort or another.

Red Hair and....

Pardon the lack of updates. *Again. :(*
So here is another one of last year's works.

Pretty soon...maybe early this coming week, I'll be able to work on new things!

Cats Compilation

The cats I sold on Ebay within the last few months. My friend suggested I paint cats, so I did...
All but the one of the mother and newborn are ours. Well, somebody elses'.
I thought that one was, too.

Hahahaha....

And I know I haven't updated my blog very much. Sorry...been stumped by a complicated project. Or rather, I'm afraid to do it and have it end up a failure. :P

What it's Called

I've a problem with naming a certain style I have a habit of wanting to dabble in.

In some ways I wanted to call it "urban art". But when I looked the term up online, it's already in use, and usually refers to grafetti art (words, cartoons, realism - whatever you see on the side of a building).

This thing of mine is....just illustrations of city/urban life. Especially observations of somebody my age. Most of my ideas have somewhat of a sad, solitary, and quiet feeling.

For example, I could do a cat. But I want to add something to the scene that makes it "urban". Hahaha...maybe dirty dishes and a hint of an xbox console or desktop.

Bleh...someday I'll develop more examples so we can decide.

A Pond-Something Project

Not really an oil-paint person, but I decided to try it again for a bit.
I almost forgot about how fun the brush effects sometimes looked.
This...is an underpainting.

It often looks better than the finished version! :D

Can You Read My Mind...

I'm almost done. And I feel at a loss. It's the next item to list on Ebay, and yet I don't want to part with it for a possible price of only $10. And yet most often my paintings never go beyond $25. It's discouraging, and I kind of need the money now (don't we all, hahaha. Sad but true). Watercolors generally don't do well, and I know I should move on to oil painting if I wanted the money. It's just that. . . for me, there is no match for watercolor.

It's as I intended...a picture that should capture one's eye and encourages one to think. Why...why was it painted? Or just the simple moment itself.

The posters on the wall were a little difficult to decide on. One of them is merely an idle drawing with black paint of The Killers. I love their songs! The most beautiful is Can You Read My Mind? I played it on my computer and decided that it should be the title of this picture.

Domani, I'll finish it even though I won't list it anytime soon until I decide what to do.

The Colorful Wall

This is actually a fun picture.
The composition is fun...the figure isn't a battle to get right. And there are so many chances to alter the feeling as one works along.

I wanted to work on this picture till it is just right...and capture a perfect scene. There should be striking contrast between the girl and the wall. I'm a big believer in the power of black, which was why I went to Walmart and got a dedicated bottle of craftmen's acrylic opaque matt black! ^_^

Black and white are our friends, and one shouldn't be afraid to use them. :)
Too many elementary paint sets exclude a tube of black. Whaa...? I know it's something to do with beginners abusing it rather than struggling within their means of primary colors, but I'm beyond being saved. I do monochrome all the time, and I need it!

Still...it may take a few more nights before I am finished. It began as this:

Paintings From the Past

.
.
I made both when I was 16. The first one was a small scene from Vermeer, a Dutch painter whom I admired very much. The bottom one is what I simply called The Jug.

Both were painted with oil paint on loose canvas, and the latter lies around on a desk unframed.
Actually, I did take multiple pictures and make a video for the Jug all during the painting process. Kind of uploaded it to every Youtube account I had as I created a different one, hahaha...not sure what to do, since I get rather self-conscious about any old projects I've done.

Well, anyway, eureka!

June 22, 10

One of my most realistic watercolors. ^_^ I can only pull one off like that once in a great while.

Listed it back before I got around to making a blog, so...

but I was so proud of myself of the ability to make light look reasonable. :)

It's only about twice a year I find the best of my work that I'm truly proud of (sometimes subject aside).

Borrowed Art Sketch

Sorry I haven't updated my blog much. I've been busy...watching online TV.
So, without having acted or touched on my more ambitious projects, there is sadly little to update.

I do have an old favorite skit from Youtube to post instead! :D
It's totally art-related!! :)

(actually, I did have an even older video favorite about another artist, but it's slow and long, and an acquired taste. )

.

Yes, yes...I'll post a proper scan of something I'm doing soon.

Follies...

You know how at this age, perception towards our own creation changes so quickly. One day it was our greatest thought. Next year, thank God no one knew. We're thankful it does not exist anymore....whatever we created back then.

The last thing one wants is to have it end up in a museum.

"And here we see the notebook in which the esteemed writer Ivan X practiced his numbers and ABC's. Even at the age of five, he showed a talent for writing, as seen in his riveting seven-page novel entitled, "How 4 Men Took Over St Petersburg in 7 Days"...

...which is in the back of the workbook. :P

Seriously...my friends agree with me, especially those who write a lot. Even Napoleon said the same thing, and one doesn't question his authority on such. Meh...I don't feel that way towards writing so much as other things. I've been blogging since I was 16, and still stand by most of them as being some of my...better thoughts. But not when it comes to things art-related.

One would think that by the time we're in the 20s, the insecurities might wear off. Well, I did turn 20 this month... :)

Some of my projects might have a theme and a story running through them. I haven't developed anything other than a sad or contemplative aura.

Oh My Gosh!

The Saints are on Ebay!
I know I spend way too much effort keeping up with the Boondock Saints.....

But I still do anyway. :P
I just happen to be a fan/follower on Facebook, so whenever they post something, I tend to see them in the feeds.

Not really happy with the second movie. After 10 years has passed in Hollywood, one can expect sequels to be...different. But it's the Irish brothers....and they're so lovable...it makes no difference in the end.

..

Boondock Saints II on Ebay

It's going to be fun to keep up with! Hahahaha... :)

Leaf

I pulled a stalk in between catching the bus home as I sometimes do. It was something "to study".

'Kind of waited till it was wilted and dead before I started drawing with some ink wash.

Yay...I finally decided to sign up for Blogspot!! Deciding on the URL was a little tricky.

Somehow, I get the feeling I've stared at this composition page before. :P
